Answer Reznichenko Anna Stanislavovna

Orthodontist, Team lead of pediatric orthodontics, experience 6 years

The first visit to an orthodontist should be at age 5 or 6 years.

By this time, all the temporary teeth are usually present in the mouth, forming what is known as a temporary bite. At this age, the formation of a malocclusion can be prevented. If the child has any bad habits that may entail improper formation of the dentoalveolar system, exercises in play form are prescribed. Treatment with special mouthguards can be started as early as 5 years of age. The earlier you start correcting the bite, the faster and easier the orthodontic treatment is.
