What you need to know about braces prices?

The total cost and timing of orthodontic treatment is determined by several factors, primarily the complexity of the case and the bracket system chosen. Metal braces are cheaper than clear braces and lingual braces are more expensive than vestibular braces.

In addition, there are several important considerations that make installation more affordable:

  1. Orthodontic treatment is divided into stages, and each stage is paid separately, so you get an interest-free installment plan for the entire period of treatment. First, 50% of the installation is paid, and during fixation  – the second half. Then all payments are made in installments once a quarter.

  2. The clinic regularly provides patients with discounts that will help them save up to 15%. For example, you can choose to pay for orthodontic treatment at the same time and receive bonuses.

  3. The state provides for the possibility to receive a tax deduction in the amount of 13% of the cost of treatment, including orthodontic.

At what age can braces be placed?

Treatment is possible at any age. However, the method of treatment depends on the orthodontist's goals and the problems being addressed.

Malocclusion can be caused by the following reasons:

  • improper teething;

  • incorrect jaw formation.

If the teeth are not erupting properly, this can be partially helped at the initial stage, at the age of 6 - 8 years, and in adolescence, at the age of 12 - 14 years, it can only be helped to improve the alignment of the teeth.

As an adult, it can be resolved just as effectively. The only difference is the timing of treatment. In adults, orthodontic treatment will take a little longer because of the slower tooth movement due to bone mineralization.

If the problem is due to irregular jaw growth, it is likely to show up at age 6-8, and if treated as a child, it will recur at age 12-14. Therefore, it is during adolescence that an orthodontist can influence the development of the jaws and thus shape the correct bite.

Вbracket system types

Based on the method of fixation:

  • Vestibular  – are attached to the outside of the teeth.

  • Lingual  – are attached inside, on the back side of the teeth.

  • Standard – when an orthodontist installs standard factory braces by virtually calculating the angle, spacing, etc., without prior computer modeling.

  • Customized – digitally created. The design of their placement on the teeth is programmed by an orthodontist on a computer. After that, they are fabricated in a factory specifically for a particular case, come to the clinic in special mouthguards, and are attached with their help.

For example, lingual systems can only be individual, and vestibular systems can be both individual (Insignia system) and standard.

Vestibular systems allow you to achieve the desired result in less time than lingual ones, while the latter are completely invisible to others.

By mechanism of operation

  • Ligature – where the arch is attached to the brace using ligatures such as rubber bands or wires.

  • Self-ligating – when braces have locks in the structure that effectively hold the arch.

Self-ligating  – are more advanced, ergonomic for the patient and comfortable for the doctor. They are more predictable and allow for effective results.

By material of manufacture

  • Metal – the most affordable, reliable and efficient ones.

  • Ceramic  – more aesthetically pleasing than metal, less noticeable.

It is possible to combine metal and transparent systems from the same manufacturer – such systems are called combined systems.. Thus, a transparent system is placed in the smile area and metal ones on the far teeth – metal ones. The arch is always metal only.

Installation process

Step 1 - Preliminary Step

All cases are individual, so the first step is to visit a consultation with an orthodontist, where the specialist will describe the patient's situation in detail and outline preliminary possible options for its correction. A specific treatment plan with a predictable result can only be drawn up after a full orthodontic diagnosis has been performed.

A comprehensive treatment plan – is a document containing a complete description of the patient's case, the number of all necessary manipulations, all the doctors' recommendations and the full fixed cost of treatment with a transparent calculation.

Once the treatment plan has been agreed upon and all the preparations for oral sanitation have been made, it is time for installation.

Step 2 - Orthodontic treatment

The installation process is painless and takes about an hour and a half. Whereas the further process of orthodontic treatment is about two years. However, the duration of treatment, as well as the cost, depend on the specific case and the chosen system. As part of the treatment, it is very important to carefully take care of oral hygiene, follow all the recommendations of the attending physician and promptly attend the activations prescribed by the doctor.

Activation These are regular manipulations to correct the arc according to the chosen treatment plan. During these visits, the orthodontist monitors the treatment process and gives new instructions for the future period to the patient.

Step 3 - Retention period

After a certain period of time, after achieving the desired result, the braces are removed. However, the first year after withdrawal is the most unstable – it is extremely important at this stage to take maximum care of preserving the result obtained. That is why orthodontists now consider it mandatory to wear retainers (a special wire that is attached to the back of the teeth).

In addition to the retainers, special night caps are made for the patient.

In case of failure of the restraint systems, it is urgently necessary to contact the clinic to correct the situation.

In general, the retention period lasts for two years. However, the retainer – it is not a temporary method for a period of stabilization of the results, it is a permanent necessity.

Cooperation with the doctor at all stages is mandatory, only through honest and responsible interaction between doctor and patient can the planned results be achieved.

Summary

The timing and cost of treatment depend on the specific case and type of bracket system. At the Confidentiality clinic, they are fixed in the treatment plan and remain unchanged throughout the entire treatment period.

An important aspect is the choice of the attending physician and clinic. Also, the key to effectiveness is high-quality diagnosis at the beginning of treatment and retention period at the end, which should not be neglected. Doctors of the Confidentiality clinic are recognized experts in orthodontics, work only with international treatment protocols, conduct scientific activities, and are ready to take on any case. The clinic is equipped with modern equipment that allows for the most accurate diagnosis and predicting the result at the very beginning of treatment.
