Until how old can braces be placed?

There are no particular age restrictions in orthodontic treatment, braces can be fixed as long as you have your own teeth.
A fair number of age-appropriate patients are trained for orthopedic treatment (prosthetics) with braces. For example, my oldest patient is about 70 years old.
