How do you know if orthodontic treatment is on track?

I am undergoing treatment with ligature metal braces. It's been 4 months. At the beginning of March I was told that there was no room for canines and I had to remove my premolars. I said goodbye to my healthy four. For a minute, before the treatment I did not do any research except for a panoramic photo. Before removal, of course, they didn't do it either. They didn't take any pictures of me either.

Now the upper teeth are aligned (one was crooked, an incisor on the left), the top five teeth, which grew in the palate and still stands there, they said it should also be extracted. I thought this treatment plan was wrong, after reading the information, I had a trg and klkt. Another orthodontist saw a misalignment of my lower jaw. At the moment the lower teeth are still uneven, the clamping of the teeth is broken, my lips now do not cover my mouth, I can not close them, the lower jaw has gone to the right, the lower teeth are some higher, others lower, canines do not fall into place. There is a hole on the right side of my right quadruple (I think the root of the canine has started to bare, gum recession is happening)

.

Questions: what should I do next? What kind of treatment plan should be drawn up? Should I run away from such a doctor with his treatment plan? What is the current situation with my jaws and teeth, judging from the scans?

Based on the data provided, we can note that you are characterized by the following characteristics:

  • Severe crowding of teeth in the upper jaw (100% deficiency for tooth 25);
  • Slight crowding of teeth in the lower jaw (deficiency for 35);
  • Cross bite (the cross ratio in the teeth area is 12\42);
  • The displacement of the central line of the upper dentition along the face to the left;
  • The displacement of the central line of the lower dentition along the face to the right.
  1. Teeth alignment occurs in the first few months of orthodontic treatment, but 4 months is not enough time to evaluate the result. On average, the teeth become straight after 6-8 months, but they may still be misaligned (even to the point of worsening the original situation).;
  2. Next, you need to trust your doctor. If you want to get a second opinion, then at least a face-to-face consultation is necessary.
  3. Without seeing the initial situation, it is impossible to tell whether your doctor's treatment plan was correct or not.
  4. Before you think about changing your doctor, talk to him frankly: tell him your concerns and ask questions about the treatment process, about planned tooth movements.
  5. If you still want to change doctors, then when you switch to another specialist, you will need to undergo a diagnosis (make plaster models of teeth, photographs and a CT X-ray) and plan treatment. Also, if another doctor works with a different bracket system, it may be necessary to remove the current braces and fix the new ones. Otherwise, the treatment may be less predictable.
  6. To assess the health of teeth (including on the issue of gum recession) and jaws, a consultation with a dentist-therapist is necessary.

Please note that these recommendations are for informational purposes only.  Consultation and diagnosis by an orthodontist is required to make a diagnosis and prescribe a treatment plan.
